Dr. Kris Wilson earned numerous awards for his broadcast television journalism work as a news director, executive producer, line producer, anchor, reporter, public affairs show host, sports reporter/anchor and weather reporter/anchor. He’s successfully taught thousands of successful journalists who work in all those same positions (and more) and who have accomplished much in their careers and make a difference in the communities they serve.
Combined with Ph.D. in geography and with a special focus on climate and weather, Dr. Kris first identified in the research literature the important and special role TV weathercasters play in their communities. With his unique perspective combining both TV news experience and science expertise, Dr. Kris works with TV reporters and weathercasters to enhance their writing, reporting and on-air skills communicating what can be complex material to a general audience.
As his recommendation letters note, Dr. Kris is expert in TV news scriptwriting and reporting, voice and delivery and on-air presentation.
